I’m a machine learning engineer at athenaHealth, and just graduated with a Math and Computer Science degree from Brandeis University (GPA of 3.84). Previously, I worked as an AI researcher at MIT for 5 years and as an AI engineer at First Touch. At athenaHealth, I utilize machine learning for the athenaCollector platform. Before joining AthenaHealth, I spent five years at MIT’s CSAIL—first as a research intern, then as a software engineer—working on multiple AI projects, including genetic programming for video games, NLP-driven learning analytics, and a DARPA-sponsored project on military simulations. My research has led to five conference publications. At First Touch, I worked on refining AI model outputs to help businesses sell their products. I wore many hats, including back-end development, prompt engineering, and determining what's the best way to sell a product. I volunteered and worked as a web developer for the nonprofit AutCom, where I helped build and design their website, emphasizing ease of use and readability for those with autism. In my free time, I love acting, singing, and playing the guitar, which you can find me doing as Charlie in T: The Musical at the Rockwell Theater in Somerville. I also enjoy boxing, tennis, and rock climbing. Lastly, I spend too much time reading about math on Wikipedia and textbooks.

    Worked as an AI engineer at the startup First Touch while completing my undergraduate degree at Brandeis University. My work included: - Improving the tone and quality of emails generated by large language models by refining prompts and optimizing how information was incorporated. - Developing an internal A/B testing framework in Python to allow for systematic comparison of prompts, models, and parameter variations, enabling faster and more reliable testing of prompt optimization. -Prototyping a prompt-chaining feature using LangChain for the backend. -Providing input for the future direction of this startup.

      Promoted from intern to software engineer. I completed two major projects: 1. My main project was sponsored by DARPA in collaboration with Peraton Labs (formerly Perspecta Labs). The project goal was to learn effective new Red Force brigade behaviors, expressed as novel tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), for force-on-force wargames at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels. To achieve this, we developed a Genetic Programming and Artificial Intelligence Planner framework for use with 3D simulation using Unity and C#. Further, I gained experience working with government officials, contributing to technical progress report writeups, and presenting to DARPA representatives and researchers. Our work was published in GECCO 2022 and GPTP 2023. 2. My other project applied the above framework to generate AI behavior to play the game Bomberman. This project began at the SPECIES summer school in 2022. Our work was published in EvoStar 2023. In addition to the above, I helped run the GECCO conference in 2022. I was in charge of running the AV technology to ensure that both in-person and virtual attendees could hear and see presentations. We had over 1000 virtual attendees.
