ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE IN ADMINISTRATIVE MEDICINE OR ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AT THE MEDIUM TO LARGE ORGANIZATIONAL LEVELS.
The Chief, Aerospace Medicine (SGP) is key to the integration of Team Aerospace both internal to Team Aerospace, within the medical group, and the entire Wing. A successful and productive Team Aerospace always have dedicated and capable SGPs. In a manner analogous to the Chief, Professional Services, Chief, Nursing Services, the SGP assures the high professional qua lity of key elements of the program, brings particular knowledge of the "human weapon system" and directs their integration for maximum mission accomplishment. Traditionally, because of the focus on “Human Weapon System”, medical training has been a big advantage for the SGP. Normally this officer is the senior aerospace medicine physician (AFSC 48A3) in the Wing or Command, In such roles, the SGP role is an essential element of the command and control of Team Aerospace.
Commander of the 56 Aerospace Medicine Squadron.whose mission is to provide/support the 56th Fighter Wing flying/training and deployment mission through superior aeromedical, occupational, environmental and preventative medicine programs. Flight and Operational Medicine Clinic is responsible for the health and welfare of those on fly and control status as well as their dependents. Additionally, FOMC provides medical oversight for PRP certification and is responsible for flightline emergency response. Public Health prevents disease, disability, morbidity and death through effective use of population-based PH programs. Conducts epidemiological surveillance and analysis of communicable, environmental, occupational morbidity and mortality to establish and prioritize strategies for prevention and intervention. Public Health also ensures that members assigned to the wing are ready and fit to deploy. Bioenvironmental Engineering uses a comprehensive approach to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control chemical, physical, radiological, and biological hazards to people in the air, water or ground from cradle to grave. Optometry Clinic is comprised of dedicated and compassionate professionals who specialize in providing high quality, primary eye care and urgent need services supporting wartime readiness and sustaining combat capability in support of the aerospace medicine mission. Our team provides state-of-the-art eye health care that specializes in comprehensive vision care and clinical optometry services. Health Promotions manages the wing’s health and wellness through community health education programs, tobacco cessation efforts, fitness and nutrition classes as well as one-on-one counseling by subject-matter experts. Chief Flt Med/Occ Med Led/responsible for flight medicine, occupational medicine, optometry, physical exams, and base emergency ambulance services. Oversaw healthcare delivery to 600+ rated personnel (including NORAD ANG Western Sector), air traffic controllers, firefighters, and special duty personnel. Chaired the Aeromedical Council and Occupational Health Working Group and Disability Working Group (DAWG).
Residency of Aerospace Medicine (RAM) -------------------------------------------------------------- The U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) is an internationally renowned center for aerospace medical learning consultation, aerospace medical investigations and aircrew health assessments. USAFSAM promotes readiness and protects force and community health by utilizing a range of tools and expertise including environmental and health surveillance, laboratory and risk analysis, process re-engineering, consultation and technological innovation to maximize operational health capabilities and to solve problems through ingenuity and partnerships. The program is three years, with the first year to earn an Masters of Public Health, second year a practicum in Aerospace Medicine, and the third year in Occupational Medicine.
