Communicating the journey of how the developing web based analytic platform EcoCommons can provide valuable environmental services and ultimately achieve its vision and mission. Mission: To be the platform of choice to analyse and model ecological and environmental challenges.
Started as the project officer to support BirdLife Southern Queensland coordinating a variety of bird related monitoring, citizen science and conservation projects while assisting the local branch with a variety of tasks. As I found more grants to focus on Powerful Owl work, that position shifted to being entirely focused on a Powerful Owl project modeled after the successful project in NSW, we find and monitor the regions Powerful Owls by engaging hundreds of citizen scientists and through a partnership with QUT which allows us sample more widely using acoustic sensors.
