- Implement maintenance strategies and procedures for potable and wastewater maintenance teams - Collect, compile and maintain pump, motor and switchgear database for equipment - Initiate, Design and Manage plant M&E upgrades - Design schematic diagrams for motor control and pump hydraulic systems to interface with new and existing communication protocols - Prepare engineer estimates, evaluate and select suitable M&E Contractors for project - Perform detail evaluation and analysis on tenders for departmental contracts - Prepare product specifications for M&E equipment which includes: speed reducers, centrifugal pumps, level and pressure transmitters, combination starters, AC Generators, mechanical seals, solid state starters - Evaluate energy usage and demand for potable water and wastewater facilities - Monitor power system parameters using Fluke 434 PQA instrument - Initiate energy saving methods and recommendations to reduce energy consumption through implementing process control strategies such as VFD, and PFC using detuned capacitor banks
Responsible for Preventative Maintenance in Potable and Wastewater Systems.
- Responsible for performing electrical maintenance, upgrades and installation at the bauxite mining and processing section of the Ewarton Works Plant, having a 69kV/11.9kV/3.3kV power system network with an installed generation capacity of 25MVA - Apply engineering standards, specifications and recommendations on heavy current equipment (rated at 500Hp) - Evaluate SPI and SOP for equipment and job proficiency - Install and maintain LV and MV equipment - Perform LV and MV switching of substations during load shedding exercise and plant shutdowns - Conduct Pdm and PM on power transformers to include Infrared Thermal Imagery on 2000 kVA, 13.8kV/3.3kV substations - Utilize CMMS to plan, generate work requests and monitor maintenance schedule - Maintain, program and repair of AC and DC VFD - Conduct training on VFD to Operators and Electricians
