Robert Balthasar is the Managing Director and CFO of Siemens Stiftung from April 1, 2024. Together with his colleague Dr. Nina Smidt, Managing Director and Spokesperson of the Board of Directors at Siemens Stiftung, Robert Balthasar will manage the foundation's business until further notice. He is responsible for Finance, Controlling, People & Organization, Legal & Compliance and Asset Management.
Robert Balthasar has been responsible for the technical and disciplinary Head of Unit for Business Administration & Controlling at Siemens Stiftung since October 2019. Since March 2019, alongside Tilmann Straub (Siemens Stiftung) Robert Balthasar has been a Director at WeHub! Victoria Ltd, a social enterprise founded by Siemens Stiftung in Kenya. Between 2009 and 2019, he managed the development of the central Purchasing, IT, Legal/Compliance and Human Resources departments at the foundation. He also coordinated the service providers involved and acted as Compliance Officer. His responsibilities also included contract management and project control.
As a part of the team that joined the foundation since the very beginning, Robert Balthasar was involved in the integration of the Siemens Forum Munich, Siemens Forum Erlangen and Siemens Arts Program divisions at Siemens AG in Munich and helped build up the foundation organization with his expertise.Development and management of the central purchasing, IT, legal/compliance and HR departments. Coordination of the service providers. Responsible for contract management and project controlling. Introduction and management of the central project controlling tool including reporting to the Executive Board
Supervised the foundation and development of WeHub! Victoria Ltd., Kenya, a social enterprise founded by Siemens Stiftung on Lake Victoria.
Robert began his career at Siemens in 1998 in the Arts Program department in Munich. He worked there until 2009 as commercial head of budget planning, budget and project controlling as well as reporting to the central units. He coordinated contract management with a focus on cultural sponsorship and managed projects such as the Siemens Festival Night Bayreuth (public viewing) from 2008 to 2011.
