Full P&L and strategic responsibility for the international Paper Division (€560M revenue, 1,200 FTEs, 3 sites). Reporting directly to the Group CEO and Advisory Board, transforming the division into an independent, highly profitable business unit. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: - M&A & Post-Merger Integration: Executed the carve-out and acquisition of a paper mill in Brazil (€100M revenue). Led C-Level negotiations and established all corporate functions locally. - Supply Chain & Turnaround: Centralized procurement and supply chain strategy, delivering Ø 11% p.a. in cost savings. Established a proprietary forestry operation in Brazil to secure raw materials. - Operational Excellence: Drove global lean management, process standardization, and shopfloor management to ensure scalability and sustainable cost optimization. - ESG & Transformation: Anchored sustainability as a core business case, securing a €40M DEG/KfW financing for decarbonization.
Managing Director International, Packaging Division | Executive Board Member Klingele Paper & Packaging Group – Stuttgart (2017–2021) Led the international Packaging Division with full strategic and operational responsibility across 11 sites in Europe, the UK, Scandinavia, Latin America and Africa. Member of the Executive Board. Operated in a highly competitive and fragmented market environment, driving international expansion, structural integration and performance alignment across cultures and business models. Key achievements: • Built and led a global leadership team (11 direct reports), with a focus on scalability, accountability and cultural integration • Developed and executed an international buy-and-build strategy with 12 successful acquisitions, including full post-merger integration and organizational setup • Managed the complete M&A process, carve-out and integration of the paper mill in Brazil, establishing a fully independent entity under complex operational and cultural conditions • Held global responsibility for strategic sourcing of containerboard, directly impacting approx. 55% of the total cost structure across Klingele’s entire Packaging Division – including both international and German sites; led supply chain integration and initiated substantial improvements in cost efficiency and supplier management • Acted as a bridge-builder across international leadership cultures and successfully integrated diverse organizational models, strengthening collaboration, retention and performance across regions
