• Provide training in each WEM region on the individual and public assistance programs to state and local officials to ensure proper response to events which could result in a presidential disaster. • Conduct natural disaster awareness campaigns to increase awareness of potentially hazardous conditions to the public and private sectors in the spring and fall. • Establish, maintain and update semi-annually goals for the State Individual Assistance Officer. • Establish, maintain and update semi-annually goals for the State Public Assistance Officer, the Wisconsin Disaster Fund Disaster Response and Recovery Planner, and the Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Recovery Planner • Monitor and review Quarterly reports to FEMA Region V for the Public Assistance Program. • Serve as the state Individual Assistance Officer for Presidential Disaster Declarations. • Submit initial state damage reports to senior management within 48 hours. • Compile and analyze Preliminary Damage Assessments within 7 days of the event. • Coordinate and prepare Governor's declaration package within 30 days of the event. • Staff the Joint Field Office as assigned. • Provide direction to Public Assistance program when disasters occur.
