I have recently completed a Masters in Conservation Ecology (In which I achieved a Merit)at Oxford Brookes University to provide formal background conservation knowledge to his practical experience as a field ecologist for two seasons. Prior to this, I completed a first degree in Geology at Royal Holloway University of London where I achieved a 1st class honours degree and followed that with an MSc by Research in Earth Sciences at the same institution. This provided me with project planning and autonomous working skills I actively volunteer for the conservation groups Earth Trust and the Wildlife Trusts as well as the Thames Valley Wildflower Meadow Restoration Project and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH). I am particularly enthusiastic with regards to volunteering with the OUMNH as an object handler working with mostly children and families and volunteering with the Thames Valley Wildflower Meadow Restoration Project directly working on ecological restoration. I am especially passionate about the natural sciences and the natural world and am always eager to find opportunities to expand and share this knowledge. During my masters project in his Ecology Masters I collected invertebrate samples in the vicinity of nesting Lapwings and used multivariate analysis to determine the effect of diet on Lapwing breeding success. During my masters by research earth sciences project I collected data and observations from dinosaur footprints and compiled these into meaningful insights and interpretations regarding Cretaceous palaeoenvironments. Additionally, during a gap year prior to university I travelled the world seeing conservation from a much more global perspective gaining experience and knowledge from activities such as turtle rehabilitation in Malta and recording game count in South Africa. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator and GIMP image-manipulation software and competent in R coding for multivariate analysis and Arc GIS for spatial interpretation of both vector and raster data. I have excellent presentation skills and am comfortable in public-facing roles; these skills have been honed by my afore mentioned volunteering as a demonstrator at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History and at a international placement at Rowan University, USA in Edelmann Fossil Park.
