About

I lead the most bad ass, relentless field service team in the industry. We’ve seen what happens when compressed air is treated as an afterthought. We specialize in the high-stakes environments where "down" isn't an option. My background is rooted in the technical grit of pressure settings, flow optimization, and system efficiency. I’ve built a team that reflects that expertise—technicians who understand the "why" behind the "how." We don’t just swap parts; we optimize compressed air systems for peak performance and safety, stretching every dollar of pressure for our clients. In addition to leading the most bad ass field service team in the industry, I coach technicians, service managers, and other field service professionals who want to bring their game to the next level. • Master Compressed Air Tech at Compressor Maintenance Company
    Feb 2022 - Aug 2023 · 1 yr 7 mos

As the Master technician/ Field Service Trainer it was my job to successfully troubleshoot equipment and systems that other technicians had failed to accurately diagnose. I provided leadership and mentorship to the 5 technicians and apprentices that were under my care. I developed and led a formal training program designed to give the technicians a solid foundation of knowledge they could build on with field experience(subjects included, but not limited to: compressed air physics, energy efficient piping systems, reading electrical wiring diagrams, reading piping and instrumentation diagrams, 3 phase motor basics, VSD basics). I conducted OJT with techs in the field, as well as one-on-one classroom instruction to help technicians overcome areas of weakness. I worked closely with the sales team as an advisor on the interlocking/interconnecting capabilities of multiple product lines of air compressors and air treatment equipment. When equipment needed to be interlocked, interconnected, or tied into a central controller, BAS, or other management system, I was responsible for determining how to connect everything. This included component selection, producing electrical drawings and GA drawings, and determining the best way to integrate the equipment with the existing control scheme.

  • Company Owner at Innovative Air Solutions
    Apr 2020 - Feb 2022 · 1 yr 11 mos

I was the preferred installation and commissioning contractor for Energair Solutions. I traveled the country installing Energair's Metacentre and Airmatics control and monitoring systems. In most cases, I connected the central controller to the customer’s intranet via an ethernet interface. This included working with static IP and DHCP systems. I would often also assist with setting up the email client so the central controller could send emails to the appropriate people in the event of a fault. When necessary, I troubleshot systems installed by other contractors or distributors. I also provided tech support to end users and distributors after the commissioning was complete

  • Compressed Air Tech at Quincy Compressor
    Nov 2020 - Nov 2021 · 1 yr 1 mo

OEM service provider for Quincy air compressors -During my time with Quincy Compressor, I was able to resolve a number of issues that other service providers and other technicians were not able to. I was very capable with Atlas Copco’s Modi5 and Speci5 software that allowed me to make programming changes to the equipment controllers. This resulted in many custom projects where the air compressor became the “brain” of the compressor room. I programmed controllers with virtual pressure switches that could control other “dumb” machines in the room. This allowed the “dumb” compressor to be held in reserve at a lower pressure band, but if the smart machine faulted, the dumb machine would revert back to it’s own controls and run in a higher pressure band. Thus, production never saw any loss in air pressure. I also programmed controllers to open and close ventilation louvers, start and stop ventilation fans, and even ramp up and down VSD driven fans based on ambient temperature. I performed many equipment retrofits- putting the newest controllers on older, or competitive machines. I was a recognized expert in Atlas Copco controls and routinely advised factory tech support of issues in the field and how to resolve them.

  • Compressed Air Tech at C.H. Reed, Inc.
    May 2014 - Nov 2020 · 6 yrs 7 mos

While at CH Reed I performed PM services and troubleshooting of compressed air equipment and systems. I was the resident expert installer/troubleshooter on many OEM and aftermarket networking and controls systems, as well as the expert troubleshooter on variable speed drives and soft starters (Neos, Yaskawa, Danfoss, Siemens). Quincy Compressor began using a lot of Siemens components in their machines. I became very familiar with Siemens Sinamics line of products. I was able to troubleshoot the G120 drives down to the component level, and could use Step7 to edit PLC programs as needed. I am a universally certified refrigeration tech and I worked on many types of process chillers and refrigerated air dryers, including variable speed refrigerant compressors and digital scrolls.
