  • Assistant Head Teacher at Al Jazeera Academy
    Jan 2018 - Jun 2022 · 4 yrs 6 mos

As an assistant head teacher, I was responsible for the pastoral needs of the all the children in secondary. I ensured that negative behaviour is challenged and met with appropriate consequences so that learning for all students was not affected. The data from daily reports given to me by Year Leaders and termly exam results are analysed and used to inform meetings regarding data and attainment across the school. This is presented to the CEO and Director of Education. I line managed the ten Year Leaders across secondary and supported them with any concerns about teaching and learning they had within their particular year group. I also support with line managing the math, business and humanities head of departments with a focus on Year 7,10 and 11. This aids in year 6 transition, year 9 options into year 10 and year 11’s exams into year 12 options. Since I started this role in January, I have built a greater rapport with all members of staff, as they understand my passion to succeed and believe in me. I had to deliver continuous professional development (CPD) sessions for staff and effectively communicate the training programme that was required, whether it be group activities or individual learning plan to aid in the performance of the staff.
