Hi there! :) I work at the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and circular thinking. Over the years, my engagement with design and textile systems has shaped a strong interest in how clothing is produced, circulated, consumed, and where the industry needs to slow down and rethink its defaults. I’m currently building a circular fashion initiative focused on extending the life of existing garments and challenging linear models of fashion consumption. The work is driven by a simple belief: meaningful change doesn’t always come from making something new, but from using what already exists more thoughtfully. Currently learning, unlearning, experimenting; and figuring it all out, one step at a time.
- Selected among the Final 50 ventures under UNDP Youth Co:Lab Challenge. - Currently undergoing mentorship sessions, workshops, and venture development classes through the programme. - Building a pre-loved and upcycled fashion venture aligned with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- A circular fashion initiative centred on extending garment life cycles and rethinking ownership, use, and value within existing clothing systems. - Work toward reducing fashion’s environmental impact by positioning reuse and recirculation as structural alternatives to linear production models. - Translate concepts from sustainability research, such as resource efficiency, carbon footprint, and waste minimisation, into practical, consumer-facing fashion practices.
At Riya Chhabra Design Labs, I help fashion brands and startups turn ideas into striking, production-ready products through: - Original fashion design illustrations, graphic placements & print development - End-to-end design process: moodboards, concept ideation, visual direction - Precise technical sketches & detailed tech packs for smooth production - Hands-on product quality checks & sample reviews to ensure standards
- Leading design development for collections and creative direction for socials, from silhouettes and fabric choices to graphics and finishing details. - Building a strong brand narrative through visual identity, mood boards, and storytelling that resonate with the modern streetwear audience. - Conducting in-depth design research on trends, subcultures, and market shifts to build concept-driven streetwear collections. - Overseeing collection and category planning, ensuring every drop aligns with brand DNA while meeting functional and aesthetic goals.
- Spearheaded the Gorpcore segment, conducting in-depth brand and trend research to align collections with emerging utility and techwear aesthetics. - Designed complete seasonal collections, creating detailed linesheets, option plans, and conceptual presentations for internal reviews and buyer meetings. - Managed end-to-end development—from ideation to sampling—ensuring timely coordination with pattern makers, production, and QA teams for final execution.
