I have earned my Master of Social Work degree in May 2025 through the Joint Master of Social Work Program through North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have years of dedicated social work experience in health and human services, and I focus my efforts on fostering cultural relevance and dismantling barriers to enhance individuals' quality of life. I provide specialized person-centered support to diverse populations, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent community, individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds, people of all educational levels, age groups, and ethnicities. I achieve this by offering tailored resources, targeted skill-enhancement trainings, and therapeutic interventions, such as motivational interviewing (MI), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other effective client-centered approaches. I am committed to delivering organized, time-efficient, and high-quality services with a strategic emphasis on achieving impactful and meaningful results.
• Critical support was provided to partnering community-based organizations and their clients, focusing on empowerment in areas such as wellness, career pathways, and financial health for HRC’s Next Level program. • Led a 12-week micro-level social work therapeutic service on a one-to-one basis with LGBTQIA+ clients, implementing active listening skills, motivational interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to identify/address barriers affecting their ability to meet their goals in the Next Level program. • Engaged in social work research and administered assessments to LGBTQIA+ clients on their mental wellness, career pathways, financial health, and knowledge on how their intersectionality interacts with laws and policies that impact them. • Collaborated with health and human services professionals by compiling research and aggregating client data of the Next Level program to enhance its quality of client-centered services in preparation for launching the program on a national scale for agencies, organizations, and community centers to implement into their current services. • Co-facilitated a workshop for national and international agencies and organizations, promoting HRC’s web-based financial literacy application, WorthIt, at the CenterLink Leadership Summit 2024: United In Purpose conference in Chicago, Illinois. • Recruited LGBTQIA+ individuals, agencies, and organizations to join HRC’s WorthIt application through presentation and promotion at The Task Force: Creating Change conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. • Advocated for the LGBTQIA+ community through outreach and engagement for schools, agencies, and community centers to enhance their LGBTQIA+ clients’ financial wellness via HRC’s WorthIt application at the True Colors SOGIEcon conference at the University of Connecticut in Hartford, Connecticut.
• Led the Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) initiative under the POSSE (Preventing Ongoing Spread of STIs Everywhere) program, successfully overseeing its implementation across 15 NC counties. • Provided HIV counseling, testing, & referral (CTR) services to high-risk priority populations in targeted settings. • Collaborated with Communicable Disease Branch’s HIV prevention partners to expand access to PrEP services. • Conducted audits and reviewed PrEP service data across 15 NC counties to ensure accuracy and submitted detailed reports to the State PrEP Coordinator. • Effectively managed patient records using CureMD, a cloud-based software platform, to document patients’ clinical information, order laboratory tests, and to receive patients’ STI testing results. • Utilized the online data collection and reporting system, EvalWeb, to input and submit comprehensive data reports related to HIV, PrEP services, and patient STI testing results. • Revised programmatic forms, including client information, informed consent, and laboratory testing forms, to ensure inclusivity for LGBTQIA+ clients with diverse intersectionalities. • Strategized the allocation of grant funds for PrEP services advertisements in collaboration with Winston Salem Transit Authority, and media advertisement agency, Commando.
• Served as a Permanency Planning Social Worker in the Youth and Family Services Division, coordinating reunification efforts with those assigned to each caseload. • Managed high-priority and complex child protective services cases, ensuring children from newborns to age 17 under county custody had their fundamental needs met, including housing, clothing, nutrition, education, and mental wellness support, while collaborating with all members tied to each case load. • Acted as the primary point of contact for clients and collaborated with external agencies on assigned caseloads. • Ensured compliance with policy deadlines for all cases. • Collected and analyzed information through investigations and assessments, determining client eligibility for resources and services. • Identified and recommended appropriate programs for clients, coordinating with other agencies and departments to meet each clients’ needs. • Provided training and mentorship for new hires, offering continued support beyond initial onboarding. • Maintained detailed documentation of all case-related correspondence and activities using standardized formats.
