Developmental Classes and Physical Therapy For Infants and Children
Responsibilities include hands-on clinical care to pediatric patients ranging from birth to 18 years of age. Create plan of care and functional goals for each patient. Educate parents during and after sessions using patient-friendly terminology regarding diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, plan of care and goals. Direct staff and manage insurance for a mix of public and private payers. Spearheaded structured pediatric PT treatment protocols for concussion as point person collaborating with the University of Michigan, Flint and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to standardize evaluation processes and PT treatment protocols. ➤ Successfully advocated for PT inclusion in the Northbrook Concussion clinic to ensure early referrals and evaluations. Serve as a team leader for concussion treatment progression and protocols while increasing PT referrals. Accepted as the university’s sole PT resident in a prestigious pediatrics PT residency program, a highly competitive process accepting only 13 pediatric PT residents nationwide. Completed multifaceted responsibilities in hands-on clinical care, as lecturer and as lab assistant. Successfully completed 6 months of outpatient pediatric rotations at the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center and Briarwood Milestones. Delivered excellence in clinical care in a 3-month inpatient/acute care rotation at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Co-taught pediatric sections at the University of Michigan Flint DPT program, including Cardiopulmonary Interventions and the Medical/Surgical Conditions in Practice Course. ➤ Excelled in a role requiring 36 hours per week of clinical care plus 2-3 courses in a virtual environment.
