About

Hi 👋 I’m Richard – I work as a researcher at Synthesia. I train diffusion models, write production-ready code, and deploy generative AI systems that power our synthetic video platform. Before Synthesia, I worked in academia with a focus on physics and medical imaging. I earned my PhD in medical physics and held postdoctoral positions at UCL and King’s College London. In the latter, I worked on MONAI – an open-source framework that’s become a standard for medical imaging AI. I'm passionate about building powerful, ethical, and useful AI systems – and I enjoy turning cutting-edge research into real-world impact.
