Based in San Francisco, California, Rick Holman has served as a senior executive with various companies for over two decades. Presently, he holds the position of chief executive officer of Bright Lite Structures, LLC. This San Francisco and UK based company creates advanced composite materials that are lighter, more versatile, have a shorter production cycle and are less expensive to produce than traditional materials. Although these products can be used for myriad applications, Bright Lite Structures has had significant success penetrating the auto OEM industry. The first Bright Lite Structure production car chassis is the Zenos E10 which will be on sale in early 2015. Other companies include well several well known premium auto OEM's. To prepare for his career, Holman earned a bachelor of arts in Political Science and Anthropology from Haverford College. Subsequently, he graduated from the University of Cambridge with a master's degree in linguistics with a focus on philosophy. He continued his schooling by enrolling at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a master of business administration in finance and management. In recent years, Holman has audited graduate seminars in economics at Berkeley. He wrote a paper entitled "Does High Volume Manufacturing Deter and Inhibit Product Innovation?" The concepts in this paper are being applied at Bright Lite Structures.
