After a 15-year career in Talent Development, I’ve entered a new chapter—helping modern grandparents navigate today’s evolving family dynamics with clarity, empathy, and intention. I’m the author of Connecting Across Generations and the creator of Legacy of a Grandpa, a growing platform dedicated to strengthening relationships between grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren. Through speaking, writing, and storytelling, I help grandparents stay connected without overstepping, share wisdom without lecturing, and build legacies rooted in love, not obligation.
Oak Hill Country Club is the only course in America that has hosted all six rotating men’s major golf championships and to say that working for this prestigious golf course has been a dream, is an understatement. Responsible for not only greeting the members as they arrive at the course, I'm also responsible for maintaining the great tradition Oak Hill has taken so long to build.
Retired after 15 wonderful years at Paychex, the last quarter in leadership development and strategy work. Responsible for new and continuous leader development. Strong emphasis on building partnerships with internal business units to influence and drive leadership initiatives.
Study after study has shown that employees are likely to stay at a company longer if there are opportunities for professional development. Unfortunately, the importance of these soft skills are often undervalued in most organizations, but luckily not at Paychex. While your technical skills may get your foot in the door, your people skills are what open most of the doors to come. Your work ethic, attitude, communication skills, emotional intelligence and a whole host of other personal attributes are the soft skills that are crucial for career success. At Paychex, I deliver all of this training to our employees not only here in Rochester, but across the entire country. I adapt to the learners needs and deliver training in many different ways so they can participate when, where and how they choose.
As a Talent Acquisition Manager, I led our recruiting efforts for opportunities within the Paychex service organization across the United States. Focused on the development of 5 operation/service recruiters across the country, working with each individual to achieve his/her career goals, professional goals, and personal goals. Led our military initiative which is aimed at bringing in more veterans to Paychex. Partnered and built strong relationships with Vice Presidents, Directors and Managers in various business units across the country. Helped develop, implement, and train a program to all hiring managers across the US to reduce turnover.
After 23 years in Law Enforcement, I retired to pursue a career at Paychex. The majority of my time with the Sheriff's Office was spent on the road patrol at the A Zone substation in Penfield NY. I also spent a large portion of my time training recruits, both at the Public Safety Training Center, as well as out in the field. I taught the D.A.R.E program throughout Monroe County for almost five years. Finally, toward the end of my career, I was the Training Unit Coordinator for the road patrol.
