Richard possesses over thirty years of experience in business, strategy, and project management within the oil and gas sector, having worked with major IOC's and NOC's companies across the Middle East and South East Asia including Shell International, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). His expertise spans upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, holding senior roles in strategy, business development, project management, and consultancy, including eighteen years at Shell and seven years at ENOC before joining ADNOC in 2019. His leadership style emphasizes clear vision setting, strategic focus, and measurable deliverables. He actively promotes Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leadership and fosters behavioural and organizational change. Since September 2019, Richard has served as ADNOC Group A/Vice President Project Management and Head of Discipline – Project Management. In this capacity, he leads the project management team as part of the PMO, overseeing a substantial portfolio valued at USD 130 billion across all business sectors. He has been instrumental in leading strategic initiatives such as the Group Technical Authority framework, Projects Intelligence AI Hub, and the Group Integrated Project Management System (IPMS), which includes comprehensive project standards and guidelines. Additionally, he leads various project assurance activities including peer reviews, health checks, gate reviews and post-implementation reviews throughout the company’s upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
