As a structural engineer at WSP I have been involved in a number of multi-million pound developments within the city of London. I have played a key role in the coordination of the structure to meet architectural and MEP requirements, with a number of these projects being taken through to Construction Stage issue. Notable projects: -London Wall Place (1LWP and 2LWP) - Steel frame buildings with central concrete cores. Both buildings have series of large cantilevers that allow majority of building to overhang London Wall road adjacent to the site. -Experience gained: Construction stage design and analysis of steelwork structures. Coordination with MEP engineers to provide penetrations through structural beams. Site visits to monitor progress of works. -Arrowhead Quay (Wardian) - 50 and 55 storey RC towers located in Canary Wharf. Residential floors are formed of PT slabs with large outrigger walls to provide stability to slender tower. -Experience Gained: Design of RC structure to construction stage. Analysis of PT slabs, with coordination of BWH's and recesses to avoid clashing with tendons. Attended design team meetings with architects, MEP and other members of design team. Axial shortening analysis of both towers. -Keybridge House -Large residential development where double storey basement is to be partially retained and RC blocks to be constructed above. -Experience Gained: Led the coordination of Construction Issue for steelwork duplexes and penthouses for four of the blocks. Attended meetings with external design team.
