Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
Main tasks: - Leading projects to modernize and improve manufacturing processes (Project management, commissioning of new machinery, development of new production processes of railway switch components. - Implementing Lean-Production methods to eliminate waste, maximize customer value and efficiency by continuously improving processes.
The Career Starter Programme lasted 12 months and gave me the opportunity to get to know SBB better, particularly three infrastructure departments. During the programme, I completed the following stages and main tasks: 1. Project management for the Eastern Region (Zurich): - Development of a workload calculation tool - Project manager support in track renewal projects 2. Technical development of traction current (Zurich) - Concept development for the BIM to Static workflow for structural calculations - Initiation of the development of a database for structural engineering orders 3. Business development, Railway Technology Centre (Hägendorf) - Self-study of KUKA programming on a KUKA training cell - Project management for the introduction of a new manufacturing process for ribbed plates
- Writing of technical handbooks to help TECHO execute future road improvement projects and public lighting in the disadvantaged areas of Argentina. - Participation in several constructions of emergency homes in the disadvantaged areas of Buenos Aires. - The main contribution was the planning and construction of a water tank to supply about 50 people with water. I was one of the two technical leaders of the project. The project took about 4 months and was realised with success in the barrio Nueva Vida in the west zone of Buenos Aires.
Bioenergy and Catalysis Laboratory (LBK) - Catalytic Process Engineering group (CPE) The Thesis was about salt separation in supercritical water in a Hydrothermal Gasification (HTG) unit. The goal was to model and predict the salt particles' behavior in the salt separator depending on certain parameters (mainly the flow rate, the salt concentration, and the temperature).
Affected to the Rolling Stock Engineering (RES-SPE) department, performed several tasks in computational engineering (Altair Hyperworks).
Support the group for the preparation of a test campaign carried out at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble.
