Managing the environmental function across multiple locations and leading the implementation of an environmental management system within the BP/ Equinor/ Sonatrach gas production Joint Venture in Algeria. This included managing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), Hazard Studies, developing and updating procedures and policies, legal compliance reviews, ISO 14001 auditing, setting up competency development programs, contract management and identifying solutions for environmental impacts in remote dessert environments.
Based in the Corporate Health, Safety and Environment team I set up and implemented an environmental management system for Ocean Rig. This was aligned with international standards and set requirements for the fleet of drilling units. I managed a project to develop a new Operating Management System (OMS) framework for the company. Working with senior management I developed an OMS manual to define the management system structure and requirements. The project also included restructuring the document management system and rolling out an electronic document management system (Docmap) across the company.
