    Project: Westconnex 3A – SMC, Sydney Form of contract: Design & Construct Dates: June 2018 – Current Approximate value: $3.3 billion Role and tasks performed: Project Control Director in charge of implementing and managing all project controls as Program, Cost Planning, Lean management process and all progress reporting for the entire project. Richard is a member of the Senior Leader Team and manages 20 staff fully dedicated to Planning and Controls. Richard was also part of the the Tender team at the start of the tender process in 2018 to define Construction Methods and staging of tunnels excavation. Key achievements: Managing Project Control of WCX3A, supporting all departments, Production ones (tunnel, civil, M&E, T&C) as Support Ones (Design, Methods, Finance, Procurement, Substratum…) with Reporting, Lean, and Mitigations to maintain from the start the project delivery date defined at Tender stage and today on the way to be achieved in advance. Defining Tunnel Production Line to allow a Lean organization involving Tunnel excavation, Tunnel Civil Works, Pavement and M&E to work concurrently achieving a distance from RH face to start of M&E of 700 m.

      Project Names: Northconnex Motorway(Sydney Australia) in Delivery Phase & Metro Tunnel Melbourne (Victoria Australia) in Tender Phase Tunnel Construction Manager From January 2015 to September 2016 - Southern Tunnels Construction Manager Design and construction of 9 km long dual tunnel linking Eastern and Northern Sydney (between the southern end of M1 Pacific motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 at its existing Pennant Hils Road interchange): AUD $ 2.8 Billion. In charge of the excavation of half of the project from the two southern sites, managing Planning, Methods, launching all tunneling activities with two Project Managers under my supervision. From October 2016 to May 2017 - Tender Melbourne Metro Tunnel As part of the tender team, my main achievement based on skills acquired tunneling two underground stations for the Paris Metro Network line 14, I was in charge to define the Construction methodology and program of the two underground CBD stations which result by proposing a innovative and safe solution knowns as the Trinocular Cavern which has been since successfully built. From June 2017 to June 2018: Lean Manager Design and construction of 9 km long dual tunnel linking Eastern and Northern Sydney (between the southern end of M1 Pacific motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 at its existing Pennant Hils Road interchange): AUD $ 2.8 Billion. New position created in 2017 on the Project to support the Tunnel Director and Project Manager, to define, to propose, and to implement process improvements in Tunneling activities. Main achievements were the capture of a lot of Lesson learnt that would be used later one on similar tunneling projects and the fact that implementation of Lean could show huge benefits on the field, being also implemented for Tunnel Civil Works, Pavement and M&E works.
