NetWorks Rhode Island was begun in 2008 by then AS220 Artistic Director, Umberto Crenca and local art supporter Joseph A Chazan, M.D. The purpose of the project is to highlight outstanding Rhode Island visual artists and to promote the artistic community in the state. It includes photographic portraits by Scott Lapham and Lucas Foglia, biennial exhibitions at The Newport Art Museum curated by Nancy Whipple Grinnell, and printed catalogs by Malcolm Grear Designers. The project to date, consists of over 100 ten-minute pieces showcasing the artwork, creative process and personality of each artist. Premiered annually at The Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design and currently airing on PBS, these videos demonstrate my ability to tell the unique story of each subject, to navigate the production process successfully in a myriad of (not always predictable) environments and with a wide variety of personalities. I handle all aspects of video production, from coordinating the shooting schedule to doing the shoots themselves, the editing and sound production, and the dissemination and archiving of the finished products.
