With decades of leadership experience in some of the nation’s most prominent academic and public health systems, I've dedicated my career to advancing healthcare delivery, policy, and innovation. As the Principal of Washington Square Advisors LLC, I currently provide strategic advisory services to global medtech and biotech companies, health systems, and emerging ventures. The firms focus; "Expert Led Guidance at the Intersection of Healthcare Innovation and Strategy". Former roles include CEO of the University of California Irvine Health System and SVP of Hospitals at NYC Health + Hospitals, President of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, and SVP at Wake Med Health & Hospitals, where I cultivated a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in healthcare delivery, operational excellence, strategic planning, turnaround, and transformative leadership. At NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, I serve as a Senior Lecturer in Health Administration, imparting practical insights and academic rigor to the next generation of healthcare leaders. In addition, I served as the inaugural co-director of the MS in Health Law and Strategy, a joint degree conferred by NYU Wagner and NYU School of Law, focusing on strategy and risk. As the host of the Healthcare Nation Podcast (healthcarenationpodcast.com), we explore the intersection of biotech innovation and healthcare, discussing strategic, policy, and economic impacts with thought leaders in the field.
