Developing a workforce, supply chain and associated infrastructure in the nuclear industry given the constant nature of change in this sector is a daunting challenge. With the addition of Small Modular Reactors, Interim Expended Fuel Storage, the need for increasing levels of STEM education including public outreach, NIA has the tools to analyze, plan and implement solutions and do so the first time, the right way, at the lowest cost. NIA supports these same activities for other high risk, technically challenging market sectors as well including manufacturing (traditional and advanced), industrial construction and other energy arenas. With an extensive background in people, processes, performance, and risk and project management, NIA willl partner with you, your management team and your staff to resolve the challenges facing next generation scientific and technology-based companies and their emerging workforce. Specific support includes: • Provide support to State, Federal and international clients in assessing current energy and nuclear infrastructure against desired or projected energy development and growth. • Develop plans to achieve goals through strategically planning for resource development in such areas as education, training, supply chain, safety culture, risk assessment and regulatory framework. • Generate the necessary strategy, plans and legislative agendas required to succeed.

Worked with multiple Federal agencies and State educational institutions in Idaho and elsewhere to secure funding for and implement a unique approach to the education and training of technicians for the energy industry. The Energy Systems Technology and Education Center was created with funds from the US Department of Labor and National Science Foundation based on concepts that I developed to bring a new approach to create the next generation of adaptable technicians to the US workforce. In operation for 13 years, this Center, housed at Idaho State University's College of Technology, has placed 100% of its graduates since inception and is nationally acclaimed as the "gold standard" in the training and education of technicians for the energy sector. I served as Deputy Director of the Center from 2007 to 2011 as a primary interface with government and industry. Prior INL Positions 2000-2005 Manager, Center for Performance Improvement 1993-1999 Manager, Federal Employee Development Support Programs 1989-1993 Director, Laboratory Technology Transfer Office 1984-1989 Lead Agent, Scientific and Nuclear Systems Business Development 1982-1984 Senior Engineer, DOE Training Coordination Programs 1981-1982 Senior Reactor Operator/Plant Chemist, Advanced Test Reactor
