Managing a WLS development team focusing on messaging, database connectivity, and transaction processing.
Managed engineering team developing Complex Event Processing product running on a light-weight Micro Services Architecture (mSA) container, including the engineering team developing OSGi-based common components in mSA. Drove process innovations across boundaries of product silos to bring together assets for re-use in an mSA world (“SOA inside”)
Relocated to China R&D Center in Beijing to ensure smooth transition of a key onshore project to China. Helped build an R&D team of 100 engineers supporting several projects both onshore and offshore. Responsibilities include both Engineering management and Product Management, supporting a worldwide enterprise customer base generating license revenue of over $60M and maintenance revenue of over $150M annually.
Joined shortly after start-up and held positions ranged from software engineer to engineering manager to engineering Director. Accomplishments include developing key features of the market-leading OLTP product Tuxedo, porting Tuxedo to OS/400 and OVMS, managing full lifecycle of the Tuxedo product family from PM to Development to QA to customer support. Led a team of 50 engineers, 5 direct reports, with an annual budget of $10M, supporting a base of over 1200 worldwide enterprise customers.
