Having been working in the Energy Trading Industry for the past years, I had the chance to cover different roles and gain transversal skills in this ever changing sector. Started as a Middle Office employee and was quickly assigned with an increasing amount of tasks and responsibilities, until reaching the coordination of a team of five people in the Middle Office function. After a couple of years of experience, I moved to a Front Office position into the Trading & Operations department, where I get the chance to experience the Markets daily. Thanks to the different roles covered and acquired skills, I am able to adapt to numerous scenarios and, regardless of market conditions, my aim is to produce quality results focusing on various processes, spanning from the Execution of trades and Trading to the Post-Trade necessities. As I am genuinely interested in Financial Markets, Trading and Investing, I also hold a certification from the "Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management", which grants Professional and Hedge Funds' level Trading Education in a number of discrete sectors and instruments such as commodities, securities, equities, options, currencies (Forex) and bonds.This has enabled me to develop a fundamental, well-rounded and systematic approach to trading and better understand the financial markets environment.
-Development , implementation and execution of Proprietary Trading Strategies. - Development and Expansion of the Gas Trading Business .
◦ Decision Making and Trade Execution concerning weekend and late evening trading opportunities arising on the European Gas Markets, taking advantage of arbitrage situation in the European Hubs, specific Country Physical Balancing Situation and optimizing Transportation Capacities and Storages. ◦ Managing ongoing trades and optimise execution. ◦ Actively manage storages and transportation pipelines' capacities in portfolio. ◦ Purchasing of transportation assets for intraday and longer time-frames strategies ◦ Transaction Scheduling and Matching on the European Gas Hubs, Nominations of transportation flows throughout Europe.
Coordinated a team of 5 people, daily involved in : - a suite of controls, facilitating support aimed at capturing all risk events related to trading activities, within the shortest time possible. In this matter, as a team we cooperated with IT department to develop and sharpen an internal system of alerts and automated checks that help to avoid deficiencies in the capturing process. - Trade Monitoring, to ensure data integrity (completness, accuracy, timeliness). - Performing front-to-back reconciliations and managing lifecycle management related processes, monitoring and improving transaction flow. - Making sure that trades and trades' booking practices adhere to predefined models, acting as gateway into the front-to-back infrastructure and maintaining core data up-to-date. Such task required a proactive approach and collaboration with other departments, to understand and verify their interests in the deal's booking and to create predefined models of best-practice. - Investigating and responding to risk, P&L, confirmations, legal and IT queries. - Trades Confirmations and contracts. As standards are today available, we made them readily available in the ETRM system, to shorten the time needed for contracts and make contract-drafting procedure quicker and safer. - Compliance activities and analysis, EMIR and REMIT Reporting. Focused on conducting effective and risk-based monitoring and control testing, to ensure that the company is in compliance with regulatory requirements. - Contributing in developing and maintaining a compliance monitoring plan, as well as highlighting real and potential regulatory deficiencies to stakeholders, to identify key risks and weaknesses in the control framework. - Checking issues and undertake proper remediation actions, tracking them until completion. - Portfolios Reconciliation - Brokers and Counterparties Trades Reconciliations and relationship management.
In my experience as a teacher I cared about different legal topics, required by courses' syllabuses; lectures focused on Constitutional Law, Commercial Law, Tax Law, Civil Law, Criminal Liability, Labour Law.
