As Treasurer my responsibilities include ensuring adequate liquidity, low funding costs, strong capital mobilization and outstanding competitiveness via innovative products and services.
Responsible for the strategic consolidation and growth of the asset management business of the group, including the launch of new investment vehicles in LAC region for sustainable infrastructure and also in charge for the treasury area at the group level. Responsible for the design and implementation of an investment management program aimed at the optimization of risk adjusted returns and operational efficiencies for the assets under management in the treasury area ( USD 20 billion) and also partially in the operations area. The job included setting up and managing the investments area at treasury and also outsourcing a portion of the assets under management through mandates that spanned from short duration for treasury to specialized ones for the operation’s area.
The position consists of leading the efforts of the bank in the international debt capital markets aimed at obtaining an adequate funding (cost efficient and stable); support to the regional debt capital markets' development; the support to the regional financial institutions via trade finance products; and last but no least, the support to the bank's areas in charge of lending, via loan syndications with other DFIs or private sector financial institutions.
Resposible for the management of USD 5.0 bn of international reserves, that with the help of four portafolio manages under my supervision are invested in fixed income securities globally. Most of the money is managed internally using active and enhanced strategies. Member of ALCO.
