As a Protective Coating, Materials & Corrosion Specialist, it has taken me to several countries Worldwide where I have advised on protective coating, thermal insulation, materials non-metallic / metallic, painting, passive fire proofing (PFP), corrosion under insulation (CUI) and corrosion control fundamentals and mitigations. I have vast knowledge of applicable international codes and standards used within various industry sectors.
• Technical Authority for all coating, painting, wet insulation and ancillary items Verifying all meets the project specifications • Ensuring Contractor is following all Company general specifications • Document review of contractor and subcontractor procedures and inspection test plans • Witness all PQTs is in accordance with company specifications. • Verifying all PPT for onshore and offshore activities. • Attending all Kick Off Meeting, Pre Production Meeting & Pre Inspection Meeting for all coating, Paint and Wet Insulation applied to the SURF package. • Point of contact for all coating, painting and wet insulation scopes of work for the SURF package. • Responsible for all quality control for all coating, painting and wet insulation. • Managing various project yards for all anti corrosion coating and painting activities. • Responsible for QC inspection coordination for all sites used on the project. • Managing and planning for a missions for a team of QC inspectors and yard superintendants • Responding to all Contractor deviations and technical queries. • Attending project meetings. • Verifying coating reports from coating inspectors out on missions. • Coordinating offshore and onshore coating activities. • Generating material take off • Specification and procedure writing. • Responding to all technical contractor clarifications. • Calculation coating cycle times for onshore and offshore field joint coatings submitted by Contractor • Advising on coating selections • Advising on anti corrosion materials Advising on cost evaluation savings with the contractor
Responsible to follow and check the coating engineering work performed by contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors and to give project comments or approval as appropriate which includes: • Ensure project safety standards are met. • Lead pre-qualification and qualification of coating. • Ensure that all interfaces with other engineering disciplines (process, piping layout, static mechanical etc.) are adequately, timely addressed and properly engineered. • To follow the process of the coating engineering work performed by the contractor an supporting documents produced by the contractor. • To check the quality of the engineering documents prepared by the contractor, and to comment on and/or approve these, in accordance with contract procedures and requirements. • To check the incorporation of such comments by the contractor. • To review, provide comments or approve coating system technical bid evaluation. • Endure that all coating system datasheet and specifications are well defined prior to procurement. • To contribute technically to the discipline from detailed design through to construction. • To ensure that the design system, complies with maintenance, operability, safety practices and regulations. • To monitor and manage the contractor coating team during the detailed design phase and the construction phase. • To monitor the development by the contractor of tests for coating systems at the vendor’s/suppliers facilities, site and to participate in such tests as appropriate. This includes following the coating suppliers at all relevant sites including fabrications sites in particular: Witness of coating operations, coating process qualification Assessment and evaluation of coating environment and facilities, including arrangements for personal protection and HSE. • QMS Auditing
