Insurance claims assessor and investigator I have experience in the following fields: • Claim Administration • 3rd Party Claims • House Breaking Claims • Hijacking Claims • Accident Claims • Car Theft Claims Duties included: • Claims which might have any issues with regards to the policy and incident description will be allocated to me to investigate. My duties are then as follows: • I inform our client and or policy holder of the process with regards to the claim. I make an appointment with our client to conduct an assessment. I often travel to other parts of the country to have my meetings as our clients are based all over South Africa. • I visit the accident scene and compare the findings with the accident report. • I inspect the vehicle for clues on the accident for examples to road worthiness and damages and if they are consistent with the accident scene and reports. If there are extensive damages to the vehicle, speed calculation can be done. • I inquire at the South African Police Department to obtain relevant documents from them. • If there were any injuries, I inquire at the hospital for medical reports. • In have interviews with relevant witnesses on the accident. Critical thinking and honest reporting are critical. • I have constant communication with my client with updates on the proceedings. I treat my clients with the utmost respect and professionalism. • Once I finalized the claim, I draw up a report with relevant documentation to prove my findings. A decision will then be made based on the facts in my report.
Was police officer in South Africa police department and completed number of ranks and ended as Special Investigating Officer in a Trio Specialized unit who investigated dangerous crimes e.g Murder, House and Business robberies, Hijack incidents etc. I investigated high priority cases and was lead detective of my unit. When cases where assigned to me I will investigate the crime. Suspects will be questioned as well as witnesses. An intensive case will be build around the crime with reports, witness statements, clues etc to present in a court case to get an conviction if the suspect was found guilty.
