Sept 14 – March 15 Clancy Docwra Worked as a senior site engineer refurbishing the existing train maintenance shed at Ruislip depot. Some of the works included: o Breaking out the existing 135m x 17m reinforced concrete slab. o Construction of a new concrete slab complete with 4 No. 35m long maintenance pits. o Installation of three railway lines. o Detailed drainage works cast into slab and pits. o Foul and storm drainage runs. o Provision of lighting and power supplies. Some of my responsibilities included but were not limited to; o Task briefings and risk assessments o Managing junior engineers o Setting out/Surveying o Raising material/plant requisitions o Following the ITP o Managing labour/sub contractors and general site supervision o Raising technical queries March 14- Sept 14 Clancy Docwra Worked as a senior site engineer building a three storey steel frame substation. Some of the works included: o A detailed 90m x 10m reinforced concrete ground floor slab. o Erection of a three storey steel frame structure. o Suspended concrete floor slab o Cladding exterior o Drainage works o Concrete access road Some of my responsibilities included but were not limited to; o Task briefings and risk assessments o Setting out/Surveying o Raising material/plant requisitions o Following the ITP o Managing labour/sub contractors and general site supervision
July 12 – March 14 J. Murphy & Sons Worked as the senior site engineer on the extension of an existing substation. Some of my responsibilities included setting out and supervision that the following was built accurately to detailed construction issued drawings. o The construction of a 550m long haul road including two retaining walls. o 145m long and 14m high retaining wall consisting of 1m² concrete and steel mesh panels. (Largest of its kind in Europe) o Three separate substations and all the works included o 180m long culvert run consisting of 1.2m Ø precast concrete pipes which included a large inlet structure. Some of my other responsibilities included o Temporary Works Supervisor for the site. o Maintaining the Inspection Test Plan. o Quantifying and raising requisitions for any materials required. o Task Briefings, Method Statements, Risk Assessments March 12 – July 12 J. Murphy & Sons Worked in a temporary works design team as a design engineer. Some of the design works included propping systems, load distribution designs, lateral earth supports and temporary crossings. Oct 11 – March 12 J. Murphy & Sons Worked in a cable design team as an auto-cad technician. My main duty was creating construction and as-built drawings for substations.
