The name Rosma-Marine originates from a combination of the two names Rosa and Roma, the first two tugboats in our fleet. Under the name Rosma-Marine I offer freelance Vessel Managment and Dry-Dock superintendency services. Specialized in niche market vessels like DP2 anchor handlers and LPG/LNG carriers.
As a vessel manager I am responsible for three ocean going tugs, ALP Ace, ALP Winger and ALP Guard. Besides tackling daily issues this includes amongst other things, the preparation and excecution of docking periods, preparing and managing the budgets.
After starting at ALP Maritime as Jr. Technical Superintend my job title was changed to Jr. Vessel Manager. Meening so much as not being solely focussed on the technical aspects of our vessels. As Vessel Manager I am constantly working towards a better overall welfare of the vessels and their crew. Currently I am responsible for three beautiful tugs, the ALP Ace, the ALP Winger and the ALP Guard.
Besides my graduation research at Van Oord I worked as part time deckhand on the tugboats from Muller Dordrecht. Muller Dordrecht is specialized in harbour towage and heavy transport.
This graduation research focussed on the development of a hybrid cutter dredger. During this research a mathematical model was created for the cutter operation in Simulink and a unique battery pack model was implemented in the simulations which followed. The goal was to dimension the battery pack for a large cutter dredger and evaluate the benefits of the hybrid system in terms of fuel savings and reduced maintenance.
