I am an early career researcher (PhD/Dr.rer.nat) with a robust background in bio-engineering and plant ecology/agriculture. My research primarily focuses on using remote sensing and plant phenotyping to study plant stress. More details about my work can be found on my personal website (https://reneheim.github.io/). I have a proven track record in the industry, equipped with skills in statistical data analysis, R, and Python. My academic journey includes international research and education experience at prestigious institutions such as Macquarie University (Australia), University of Florida (USA), University of Valencia (Spain), University of Ghent (Belgium), and University of Hamburg (Germany). Currently, I am a principal investigator, leading the DFG-funded ON-Cerco project, at the University of Bonn and the Institute of Sugar Beet Research in Germany. This project investigates the impact of view and illumination angles on plant spectral signatures within a sugar beet-cercospora leaf spot regime.
