-Working in the Vander Heiden Lab studying cancer metabolism in depleted glucose conditions -Studying the Warburg effect in cancer cells and its need to maintain NAD+/NADH ratios to support proliferation; inhibited various steps of cellular respiration and measured proliferation through SRB assays -Generated KO MCT-1 and MCT-4 cell lines utilizing CRISPR to decrease lactate secretion out of the cell; validated samples through Western Blots Ran LCMS and GCMS to profile metabolites in cancer cells at different temperatures, and performed glucose tracing -Measured glucose uptake and lactate secretion in varying conditions, and measured OCR rates through Seahorse
-Participating in the Summer Research Program at Columbia's Department of Biomedical Informatics -Working under Dr. Rosetti's lab and assisting with the CONCERN study for better early detection of patient outcomes/patient deterioration -Designed a scientific poster describing the clinical trial stage of concern and quantifying patient outcomes -Presenting a culminating presentation on CONCERN
-Shadowing a surgical oncologist in the OR -Over 30+ hours of watching breast reconstructions, lumpectomies, and mastectomies
