City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
I started in the corporate world, but after 5 years, I felt the pull to start my own thing. That's how I ended up setting up IT Consulting businesses in the Netherlands, Spain, and South Africa. For 15 years, I ran these businesses until Genpact, a big name in finance, took notice and bought us out in 2007. After that, I led their financial projects in South Africa and Kenya from 2009, focusing on making things run smoother and introducing more automation. In 2015, I moved to Silicon Valley and took on a new role as the Global Digital Leader for consumer goods. There, I helped big companies adapt to how fast everything was changing in the digital world. By 2016, I joined ADCORP, where I worked on new digital offerings. But the entrepreneurial bug bit me again, so I started a new company, Digital Orchestrators. We're all about finding new tech solutions for our clients. In 2019, we started another project, Monday Cloud, and bought a company named DocFusion. Making our own software and staying updated with new tech like ChatGPT has been an exciting journey. I'm all for tools that make life easier, given how complicated things can get these days
After working for 2 years in a corporate environment I decided to start a new company called Digital Orchestrators that has the main goal to share experiences that my team and I have in Digital transformation using Data Science as a starting point. Starting some Digital initiatives does not mean that a company will be able to survive when new Digital disruptors come into the market. A lot of Digital initiatives focus on the front end (client) side of the business but are in reality automation projects that were long overdue. Digital transformation requires a thorough understanding about your customers, the business of today and the technology of tomorrow. If one of the 3 is lacking the chance of success is very small. Another aspect that we have learned the hard way is the way that companies involve their people AND their clients (Design Thinking). Your clients need to transform as much as your people. Looking forward to this new venture!
