I am an Associate Partner at DiCicco Vinci Architects in New York, where I am focused on expanding the firm’s work into multifamily residential and mixed-use development. Earlier in my career, I gained extensive experience working on these project types, and I remain deeply interested in the role housing plays in shaping cities and communities. My journey into architecture began in the hills of Delmas, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where as a child I spent hours drawing and building small-scale models of homes using simple materials. Those early experiments sparked a lifelong fascination with how buildings shape the way people live and experience their communities. I earned my Bachelor of Design from Florida International University and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Over the course of my career, I have contributed to a range of residential and mixed-use developments, working closely with developers, consultants, and design teams to translate vision into buildable, well-crafted architecture. My broader experience also includes affordable housing initiatives and K-12 educational facilities, work that has reinforced my interest in projects that strengthen communities. As a Haitian-born design professional, I am also deeply interested in the role architecture plays in shaping communities across the global diaspora. Through my design brand, Maison Dorcé-Jean, I explore residential design ideas that reflect culture, place, and identity. I believe great residential design balances beauty, practicality, and responsibility, creating spaces that improve everyday life while responding thoughtfully to their social and environmental context
