Interdisciplinary Research Leaders is a national leadership program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to equip teams of researchers and community partners in applying research to solve real community challenges. “Through this program, fellows will learn the leadership skills necessary to help build a Culture of Health.” Our team ( made up of Dr. Kris Madsen Professor at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Public Health and Dr. Phillip Graham of RTI's Director of Drugs, Violence, and Delinquency Prevention Program) chose to design our project to address “youth development approaches to prevent violence and promote health and social capital in Oakland, CA.”
