My name is Rebecca Mendes and I recently graduated May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science Double Major in Environmental Science and Environment, Sustainability and Society with a certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment. I recently worked with the Environment team at Emera Inc. and excelled in advancing sustainability, focusing on Scope 3 emissions and exploring frameworks like the TNFD. We synthesized sustainability metrics effectively, leveraging my strong research skills and comprehensive understanding of environmental science. My position at STAT Climate Control Solutions was to evaluate the commercial readiness of green innovations. With solid foundations in environmental impact assessments to assess technologies' viability and contribute to their market adoption, we can showcase a commitment to environmental advancement and a future in policy development. My position at Blazing Star Environmental allowed me to closely work with Species at Risk in Southern Ontario under various projects where I was able to gain knowledge and apply my skills in species identification, tracking, tagging, visual encounter surveys, data analytics, and report preparation. I have academic and research interests in environmental technology, environmental engineering, environmental analytics, GIS, conservation, and resource management. I am actively seeking employment, and would be glad to speak if you reach out to me for any job opportunities.
