Sample projects: THE CONRAD PREBYS FOUNDATION: Worked with CEO to develop a cohesive and inspirational vision for culture and values. Built process to embed behavior expectations into daily work. (2024-2025) SAN DIEGO ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SANDAG): Evaluated and refreshed the structure, processes and culture of SANDAG’s Policy Advisory Committees and working groups to support Board of Director decision making. Developed and facilitated two Board retreats to build connections and trust across political affiliations and with staff, identify areas of agreement, and inspire regional and transformational thinking. (2023-2025) SAN DIEGO NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM: Provided strategic implementation support in accomplishing the museum’s new strategic plan for the museum’s new Science and Conservation division. (2025) OFFICE OF THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO: Worked with the CAO to design and execute a full-day session for the newly-formed CAO executive team to define and align on the leadership culture. (2025) SAN DIEGO COUNTY SUPERVISOR NORA VARGAS’S OFFICE (DISTRICT ONE): Worked with Chairwoman and staff to set priorities, define values and create strategic plan for her term of office (2021, 2024)
Co-conceived, -designed, -launched and -managed Sex Ed To-Go, a free online sex education tool with over 23,000 users in all 50 states and around the world, and more than 68,000 course enrollments. Designed 25+ student-facing courses (in English and Spanish) covering foundational topics with parallel content supporting teachers in building effective curricula and feeling confident and comfortable teaching sex ed. Created parent and caregiver-facing content to support family communication and teaching sex education at home. Over 80% of teachers rate Sex Ed To-Go a 9 or 10 when asked, "Would you recommend?" and 90% of students report learning something new.
Helped grow safety-net sexual and reproductive healthcare provider from $25M budget and 200 employees to $120M budget and over 800 employees, providing 300,000 patient visits at 20 health centers and through telehealth. Activities included: • Strategic planning and direction-setting: Designed planning processes customized to organizational needs and environment. Guided implementation. Led contingency planning and organizational re-design work. • Organizational culture, employee and patient experience, and change management: Led development of an extraordinary Planned Parenthood Experience for patients, staff, volunteers, supporters, and Board members. Designed structures to support culture change, including staff trainings, tools, and awareness campaigns. • Mission-based innovation: Led efforts to reduce abortion stigma. Created Sex Ed To-Go. • Leadership development: Developed leadership expectations, assessed strengths and areas for development, and designed and led trainings. • Equity and belonging: Led creation of robust E&B plan and DEI functional area. • Board of Directors development: Planned meeting content, ensured focus on strategic questions, and regularly served as content expert. Re-designed structure. • Business model re-design: Supported a wide variety of operational improvement projects including preparing for transformational changes under the Affordable Care Act, rolling out new communication systems, and orchestrating layoffs and recovery. • Operations and fundraising: Supervised human resources, risk management, volunteer program, business analysis, and Board affairs, supervising (at peak) 15 staff and a $2.5M budget. • Market and customer analysis: Designed and monitored staff, patient, and customer surveys, focus groups and advisory groups. • Public speaking, storytelling and communication.
