Responsible for Waste and Recycling collections, street cleansing and grounds maintenance, a CA Site and Waste Strategy for the London Borough of Harrow. Covering 250 members of staff ranging from frontline operatives to middle managers within an office environment. Responsible for managing a budget of 17 million, delivering efficiencies, ensuring health and safety compliance and increased performance within the service areas.
Responsible for management of Wolverhampton Waste and Recycling contract for Amey on behalf of Local Authority. Responsible for managing collection of waste from over 107,000 properties and the sustainable disposal of over 100,000 tonnes a year from the city. Managing P&L, responsible for more than 170 members of staff, achieving contractual targets, adhering to and going above and beyond in health and safety.
Managing performance for waste and recycling contract. Developing and managing communication strategies, creating efficiencies through data analysis, managing a team involved in community engagement, handling operational issues in relation to customers and managing tonnage data and statistics in line with government and client standards. Monitoring and implementing health and safety policies and procedures in order to ensure that the contract operates safely and goes above and beyond minimum standards.
Took part in two week placement as part of Leonardo Mobility Programme in conjunction with CIWM at a waste company in Sweden. Aim was to establish best practice in regards to Health and Safety in the waste industry. Achieved Europass Mobility Certificate as a result.
