Electrical Design Engineer at John Deere

About

I graduated in May of 2025 from Purdue University Northwest with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, accompanied by minors in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. Throughout college I was an active member of Society of Women Engineers and had the privilege of being section president for the 2024-2025 school year. I was also a member of IEEE-HKN and the PNW Honors College. Since graduation I've been working for John Deere as part of their Engineering Development Program. This program gives me the opportunity to gain experience in different job roles over the course of two years. In my first rotation I worked as an Embedded Software Engineer where I developed, implemented, and tested software features for the ADT product group using both C (programming language) and Simulink. During this role I learned to develop software based off system requirements and gained an understanding of vehicle systems and CAN communication. I am currently in my second rotation working as an Electrical Design Engineer supporting the 4WDL product group. In this position I've utilized Capital Integrator, Logic Designer, and Harness Designer as well as Creo to design electrical harnesses for next generation machines. Between my electrical experience and previous software experience I've been able to develop a deeper understanding of system integration and vehicle systems as a whole. I'm currently considering a Systems Engineering position for my next rotation in this program. Outside of work I have a deep passion for space, which I continue to pursue in my free time as it was my original motivating factor for getting an engineering degree. I hope to one day use my skills to contribute to advances in space exploration. I also enjoy traveling, camping, using one of my many art-related hobbies as a creative outlet (latest being stained glass), and spending time with my friends and family.
