Hi there! I'm Tina, a responsible AI, policy, and national security professional with 7+ years of experience spanning government, academia, civil society, and industry. My work focuses on advancing trustworthy AI through research, policy development, convening, and practical implementation of responsible AI principles. I've built subject matter expertise quickly and effectively across a range of domains, from publishing research on high-skilled immigration as a researcher at CSET to crafting and passing federal legislation to establish a national AI testbed during my tenure in Congress as an AI policy fellow. I've also pivoted into roles that demanded I learn and leverage new skills, such as creating and managing programs that boost AI literacy across the federal government while at Stanford HAI or developing and scaling transparency documentation for AI systems at Microsoft. With experience in both the public and private sector and a proven ability to adapt and deliver in diverse environments, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective on the AI ecosystem to the table and believe responsible AI innovation requires a whole-of-society approach.
I created programs and published research to help policymakers and industry leaders collaborate on responsible AI governance. I forged strategic partnerships across sectors to advance ethical AI practices.
I created and led AI policy trainings for government staff, including a 3-day boot camp for Congress and AI literacy programs for 60+ federal agencies. I also managed research initiatives like the NAIRR and launched a STEM student fellowship to bridge the gap between tech and policy.
I passed legislation to authorize an AI testbed at NIST by evaluating testing needs and working with experts across government and research institutions. I also briefed legislators on AI issues and supported caucus activities through event planning and coordination.
I led research on immigration policies to evaluate how the U.S. compares in attracting AI talent globally. I also collaborated on military AI projects, supported research fellows with reports, editing, and briefed government officials on AI workforce issues.
