Hello! I am a professional development program & people manager, curriculum designer, trainer, facilitator and coach with an eye for scale and dedication to genuine connection. At the core, I am motivated by guiding people into the next phase of their professional lives. I have always valued being a part of learning communities, from working with underrepresented populations in tech, PhDs transitioning from academia to industry, to assisting undergraduate business students launch their careers. I have been able to combine my love of coaching and working with people in career transitions through program creation, individual career counseling, teaching, and facilitating large scale workshops for over 1k participants. I thrive on creating systems and content tailored to reach the target audience with humor, curiosity, and a growth mindset. Looking forward to connecting!
As Senior Director my priorities are strategic planning, team leadership, thoughtful scalability, and programmatic excellence. In this role I supervise four full time career development managers, and am responsible for a contractor network of over 110 career coaches. Our partnership with Amazon Career Choice has serviced over 7,000 learners who have all interacted with our team's career development content, coaches, and unmatched transition support.
As the first member of the Professional Development team, I began my work creating career development workshop content and a 1:1 coaching structure for the DS4A Empowerment program, focusing on helping underrepresented populations in tech transition into roles in data analytics, data science, and data engineering. Simultaneously, I began collaborating with members of our Program Team to create career development programming for a partnership with Amazon's Career Choice program. 49% of the front line warehouse associates in our first cohort have since transitioned into new roles in tech. Our network of Career Success Coaches was launched, with the onboarding of over 60 contract career coaches.
In this role I collaborated with the Director of Product and team of four coaches to launch the company-wide ‘Interview Strategy Team’ in spring 2020, responsible for pivoting company strategy to an open job search framework to support ~500 Fellows in conducting an effective independent job search. I led both technical leads and career coaches to create a job search curriculum involving workshop development, data tracking, and cross-company collaborations to support fellows across six US locations, and designed comprehensive tracking tools to measure program success and forecast placements.
Promoted to Coaching and Development Lead based on successes of interventions as C&D Manager, including having the highest rate of Fellows passing behavioral interviews out of six locations.
As the Coaching and Development Manager, I provided career development workshops, 1:1 career support, and career mentorship for ~150 Fellows per year transitioning from academia to industry roles in tech - specifically data science and data engineering. I facilitated the resume building curriculum and conducted individual reviews, streamlining the process from the previous protocol, focusing on tailoring materials to the skills and experience needed to successfully land positions in data. I instructed Fellows on successfully navigating behavioral interviews, and supported Fellows in salary negotiations, ensuring the most mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties.
I this role I counseled ~30 students per week on career development topics, with 100% of students surveyed in spring 2018 rated quality of information and interaction with advisor as very good or excellent. I also led workshops preparing students for career fairs and upcoming events, including a senior search series and collaborative events across campus. In addition to coaching, I also created new programming - such as the inaugural MBA Undergraduate Mentorship program, resulting in 49 matches in the first year. I managed the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of graduate assistants, and represented Questrom in university-wide transfer from Symplicity career management system to Handshake. Finally, I led operations for the Newcastle International Internship program through multifaceted strategic planning and logistical coordination with a staff of 2 by coordinating info sessions, recruitment, application process, visa procurement, and monitoring students abroad
