An Engineer with a wealth of experience in both the nuclear and electronics manufacturing industry. Particularly skilled in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Project Management.
• Involvement in all facets of project management, from quoting, procurement, resource scheduling to budgeting for nuclear projects of all complexities. • Knowledge in various Canadian and US Nuclear Industry Codes and Standards (i.e., CSA N299, N289, N285.0, B51, 10CRF50 Appendix B, IEEE 323, IEEE 344). • Design and qualification of various electrical/power equipment such as Motor Control Centers (MCC), protective relays, circuit breaker panels/switches, and power supplies for installation at OPG and Bruce Power. • Manage projects involving non-nuclear and nuclear Pressure Boundary fittings and vessels, supplied in accordance with ASME Section III and the CSA B51 & N285.0 standards • Experienced in Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD), Seismic Qualification, EMC/EMI, and Software Qualification of parts/equipment for installation in nuclear power plants. • Contributed to Bechtel's successful installation of their Electrical Powerhouse at the Handford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) located in Washington. Attended multiple field visits to the United States to ensure that project milestones are being met. • Develop various documentation such as test procedures, reports, bill of materials, drawings, technical specifications and manuals for a wide-range of equipment for utilities – i.e. electrical equipment, electronic components, motors, valves, relays, HVAC systems, chemicals, etc.
• Design test processes and fixtures to ensure products meet customers’ quality standards and specifications. • Collaborate with a team of engineers to provide test plans, quotes and initial design layouts for dozens of companies such as Siemens, Raytheon and Focal Technologies. • Prepare technical documents including user manuals, product specifications and schematics. • Develop, enhance and maintain automated tests scripts written in C and C#, significantly reducing error and test time required. • Designed and built down time clocks for SMT machines that display, record, and transmit the time the machine was idle, for each shift. • Developed a board counter/timer alerting the user if a PCB is still inside the reflow oven after the pre-set timer has elasped. • Designed and developed a data-logging device for dental sterilization equipment, used throughout the dental industry. Data for each sterilization cycle would be recorded onto a SD card, as opposed to having print-outs.
