I am a Program, Project Management and Controls Specialist with 15 years’ experience controlling capital projects with budgets in excess of USD 500m, and stay in business capital programs valued at USD 32m per annum. I am adept in management of business improvement and strategic growth programs, as well as project management of pre-investment evaluations for capital projects. I have worked with global-reach, $multi-billion corporations and holds EU and South African passports.
Roles performed as follows: 1. Group Business Development Manager (April 2022 - Current): Strategic growth project pipeline management. Planning and updating Group production and financial performance growth forecasts based on project assessment results and assessing these relative to the Group vision. Project management of opportunity evaluation studies using internal expertise in Geology, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Engineering, and Financial Analysis, as well as external subject matter experts. Responsible for the transition of business case and feasibility study cost and schedule estimate deliverables into project execution performance baselines. 2. Project Management and Controls Consultant (May 2021 – March 2022): Delivered a feasibility study for the revival of a decommissioned underground mining operation and continued to support project execution to first production through the management of project controls.
Project controls implementation and execution of project planning, cost management, change management and document control for all projects, notably on the $482m Mutoshi Phase 1 project (copper/ cobalt deposit in Democratic Republic of Congo) for from the study phase into execution, the detailed Engineering and procurement phases of Kipushi Zinc Detailed Engineering project, as well as providing Owner’s Team project controls for the Tongo Diamonds project in Sierra Leone.
Implementation of project cost and schedule control during the feasibility study optimisation and early construction works by the Owner on the $169m Kalana project in Mali, with specific focus on the integration of data from the site based procurement function and the project cost management function.
