Linux Administrator / Cloud Engineer
- Conceptual design, configuration and administration of server landscapes with focus on Linux Operating systems - Drive innovation to optimize, automate and standardize the operational delivery processes - Managing the daily operations, ensure high availability - Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware and OS related issue that impact the business. - Follow standard change management, problem/incident management processes , compliance and Audit guidelines. - Configuration and administration of the cloud platform infrastructure for the various SAP cloud platforms.
- Configure, Administer and Troubleshoot complex solutions built using dedicated hardware, virtualized environments and the Rackspace Cloud. - Provide technical expertise to customers through various means on communications such as phone, tickets. - Depth understanding of the Rackspace product portfolio and educate customers on how best to utilize them within distributed web architectures. - Advise and guide Customers on how to enhance the performance & stability of hosted applications. - Contribute to and maintain internal knowledge bases and documentation such as wiki's. - Maintain a high degree of industry and competitor awareness. - Continuous product analysis, Q&A and improvement suggestions. - Responsibility for adhering to company security policies and procedures. - Amazon Web Services Support - Support of Webapps LAMP, LEMP, Apache, NGINX, - Rackspace Cloud, CDN, Load Balancers, DNS, Cloud Block Storage, cloud databases, cloud files.
- Solaris and RedHat Administration/Support for several USA Customers applying best practice standards (ITIL, ISO20000). - Disaster Recovery - Troubleshooting, build of new servers, scripting, task automation. - Incident, Change and Problem Management. - Root Cause Analysis. - Operating System Hardening - Working closely with providers like RedHat, Novell, Oracle, EMC and VMware to resolve and diagnostic incidents and root cause analysis failures.
- UNIX migrations. - Administration and Implementation of UNIX Systems (AIX, Solaris, HPUX, Linux) in multiple configurations such as High Availability, standalone, virtual machines. - Administration and Implementation of Virtualization Technologies VMware, Solaris ( Zones, LDOMs ), AIX ( Virtual I/O Server ). - Administration and implementation of UNIX systems for a pool of 30 mexican customers. - Coordination of new projects hardware and software, of UNIX Systems - Making capacity and performance reports. - Hardening of UNIX Operating Systems. - Diagnostic and Troubleshooting of UNIX Systems failures. - Work with ITIL Standard. - Workload distribution among team members.
- Installation, administration and configuration UNIX platforms (Solaris, HPUX, Linux). - Knowledge of different models Midrange and Highend servers ( SUN, HP ). - Diagnostic S.O. failures. - Installation, configuration and administration of Backup servers and Backup Libraries. (Veritas Netbackup) - Installation, configuration and administration of RAID and volume manager software. (Solaris Volume Manager, LVM1, LVM2, ZFS) - Installation, configuration and administration of High Availability Cluster Software. (Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, Service Guard) - Data Migrations. - Site Migrations. - Knowledge of disk arrays ( SUN, EMC, HP ) - LAN y TCP/IP knowledge. - Script Programming (Shell, Perl ). - Design and Documentation of operative processes relative with the operation and rutine tasks on unix/Linux platforms. - S.O. hardening.
