Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States
During the 37 years we served in Paraguay, South America, I've had varied ministries among the Aché and Chamacoco peoples and in our mission main office. We've lived in two remote tribal locations, a Paraguayan country town, and in the capital city of Asunción. My responsibilities have included tribal language and culture study, tribal school director, tribal schoolteacher, Bible teaching, medical work in a tribal clinic, computer technician, government representative for our mission in Paraguay, supply buyer, mission representative to the Asuncion Christian Academy School Board, school board treasurer, language and culture consultant/coach/instructor, field security coordinator, and mobilization ministry among Paraguayan churches. In August 2024, my wife and I transitioned to working with our mission at the Ethnos360 Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI, were I took on the responsibility of Director of Student Ministry.
As the Director of Student Ministry at EBI, I’m involved in the students’ lives in discipleship, mentoring, instruction, and administration regarding how to know God’s word, walk with Christ, live a godly life, and apply biblical principles. Along with a focus on the larger student body, I also work in the areas of biblical leadership principles and conflict resolution, with two interns and student ministry leaders. There are three goals/facets of EBI Student Ministry. These areas give students tangible outlets, both on campus and in ministry, in which to apply the spiritual truths of the Bible they’re learning, through work, responsibility, outreach, and conversations related to growth in areas of life. Church: EBI students find a church to attend and then look for ways to become an active part of that church through service and ministry. Community: Involvement in the community through serving and seeking opportunities to share the Gospel and put into practice what they’re learning at EBI. Campus: To keep costs down, each student at EBI is assigned a Campus Ministry of around 3 hours a week involving cleaning, maintenance, etc.
