I have more than 24 years of responsible experience in construction and project management. My extensive engineering background and experience has provided me with the opportunity to develop strong client relationships, building skills and the ability to successfully lead teams. I have an extensive background in the principles of building, procurement and project management which encompasses planning, designing, implementing, controlling and overseeing the construction and maintenance of structures and facilities. I have also experience in acting as the Controller (in both the technical and economical fields) and Contract Manager (with working knowledge of FIDC contracts). I have managed complex infrastructure projects, in both the public and private sectors, with budgets of more than 50 million €. I also have a solid background in sustainability, quality and health and safety, with years working experience in the ISO 14001:2004, the ISO 9001:2008, the OHSAS 18001:2007 and the LEEDs certification system. I am also accredited in the Project Management certification system PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Head of the Production and Technical Departments of Alten Obras y Servicios, Spanish construction Company founded in 1981 as Preufet,S.A. It was merged into Abantia Corporació in 1994 and changed its corporate name to Abantia Contratas, S.A in 2006. In 2010 it was bought by RETINEO Corporation and changed its corporate name to Alten Obras y Servicios S.A.U. The Company closed in December 2013 as it was forced into liquidation due to the economic crisis in Spain. As Head of the Production and Technical Departments I was responsible for the building, procurement and project management of the works developed by the Company. These included the planning, designing, implementing, controlling and overseeing of the construction and maintenance of structures and facilities. I coordinated up to fifteen professional and technical teams (composed of Site Managers and Foremen) in the following works: o Studying and reviewing construction and maintenance projects to optimize building processes, resources and planning. o Monitoring execution to achieve the quality levels set and the agreed deadlines and costs, with Earned Value Management methodology. o Final handover of the site with all guarantees. General relations with customers (from both the private and public sectors), and work as Senior Estimator and Contract Manager. As Senior Project Manager I had also experience with business development (developing new opportunities within bridge conservation projects as to the EN 1504) and change management (especially within works in the public sector).

I was responsible for the execution, and deliverance of projects to agreed deadlines and within budget, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors, and overseeing quality control throughout the project life cycle. Other duties included review of and development of discipline and multidiscipline material takeoffs (MTO), evaluation and/or development of construction labour rates and evaluation of subcontract cost estimates and proposals. • Construction of a luxury Hotel with 156 rooms and Spa in the PGA golf course of Caldes de Malavella, with a budget of €20m. • Construction of the urban infrastructure of the PGA Golf of Caldes de Malavella for the construction of 400 houses, with a budget of €1m.
Assisted in the development of a 67,000-square meter building, Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB), with a civil works budget of over €125m with INFRAESTRUCTURES DEL LLEVANT DE BARCELONA as client for the FORUM 2004 event: o Managed the design, agreement and construction phases of reinforced concrete structures and steel structures of CCIB with a total budget of €30m. o Managed the construction of the urban infrastructures of the surroundings of the CCIB with a total budget of €3m.
Assistant Project Manager, Diagonal Mar Park July 2000-March 2001 Participated in the development and construction of a 30 acre park in Barcelona (Parque de Diagonal Mar), with a total budget of €13m with HINES as client: o Designed and project managed the consent and construction phases of reinforced concrete structures, artificial lakes and ornamental fountains. Project Manager, Submarine Cable Landing Station March 2001-Nov 2001 Developed the construction of a €5m Submarine Cable Landing Station, with TYCO as client and EATHTECH as consultant. All communications with the representatives of both TYCO and EARTHTECH were in English.
