The Principal Data Security Architect is responsible for defining and leading the enterprise-wide data security architecture to protect sensitive information across J.P. Morgan’s global platforms. This role partners closely with engineering, cloud, application, risk, and compliance teams to ensure data protection strategies align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and maintain data security architecture covering data at rest, in transit, and in use across on-prem and cloud environments. Define standards for data classification, encryption, tokenization, key management, and access controls. Lead security architecture reviews for large-scale platforms, applications, and data pipelines. Provide technical leadership on zero trust, privacy-by-design, and secure data lifecycle management. Collaborate with risk, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards. Guide implementation of data loss prevention (DLP), monitoring, and threat detection solutions. Mentor senior engineers and architects, influencing best practices across the organization. Evaluate emerging security technologies and drive innovation in data protection.
