About

Rainer Christoph, a Swiss national, grew up in El Salvador and holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Bern, Switzerland. As a researcher in Switzerland, at the IBM Research Laboratory Rüschlikon and the CSEM Research Institute in Neuchâtel he actively contributed to the the early development of Scanning Probe Methods, namely STM and AFM, to nm-scale analytical applications in electrochemistry and tribology. Rainer’s industrial experience started in Europe, with the development, production and international promotion of surface analytical instruments. As Key Account Manager and Regional Manager in Latin America whilst working for the communication, transportation and construction industries, he acquired profound knowledge of the people, industries and markets in a vast number of countries of the continent.
