I am currently heading Engineering for Rewards and Marketing Platforms @ OVO. In this role, I provide a wide array of solutions which drive customer retention, loyalty and engagement. As my first challenge at OVO, I provided a solution where we can analyze user interactions in our Android and iOS Apps and hence gain valuable business insights. This enables Marketing team to segment customers (people who have not done any top-up in last month or people who have not done any peer-to-peer transfer in last 2 weeks, for example) and Product team to understand customer drops (via funnel tracking). The solution also enables In-App message communication and an Inbox designated for promotional messages. I am also responsible for the various cashback programs we run to drive customer loyalty. These are various scheduled or event based modules running 24x7, supporting use cases such as cashbacks on membership upgrade or on performing a QR transaction. I also look after the game-engines intended to drive customer engagement. One of the recent projects we delivered was the CNY (Chinese New Year) randomized cashback game engine which generated 5x traffic. I am also responsible for the Notification engine which drives all the Push/SMS/Email communication to customers. This is a critical component which drives OTP and Push to Pay use cases for OVO. As the volume grows exponentially, I ensure the scalability, stability and security of the platform with the goal of 99.99% availability.
